Mad Grad Weekend '09

So, I’m about to be out of blogging commission for the next 48 hours since my family is in town for Allyson’s UT graduation! So, I thought I’d give you a little preview of the entertainment itinerary for the weekend in hopes that these events might help you plan for a weekend full of family fun!

Lunch

Walton’s Fancy & Staple– Sandra Bullock’s newest contribution to the Austin community; a florist/bakery/and delicatessen

Foodheads– Might grab sandwiches before the full university ceremony tomorrow night, since we’ll be holding seats for awhile right during dinner time!  This is one of my most “Rebeccammended” sandwich shops in Austin at 34th and Guadalupe.

Dinner

The Grove Wine Bar– I’m not sure if it’s the food or the ambiance that I love more at The Grove Wine Bar, one of my favorite restaurants in Austin.  The bruchetta sampler, veggie pasta, and pizzas are delicious, not to mention their extensive wine list! Their back porch is delightful under a massive oak tree that welcomes you into the outdoor dining space.  Also a good romantic spot or a great place for a week night out with the girls!

Events

Austin Wine Festival– Takes place May 23-25 at The Domain. $20/ticket in advance. Get a taste of local wines and enjoy a leisurely day in one of Austin’s premier shopping centers up north.

Alright…off to the ceremony to see my younger sister walk across the stage…

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
