Casa Vino!

Back during my first few days of blogging, I wrote about a quaint wine bar (and my favorite wine there!) housed in a…well, house… snuggling right behind the intersection of Barton Springs and Lamar hereHouse Wine, at 409 Josephine, is a perfect under-the-radar spot to enjoy a quiet afternoon or evening with friends sipping on reds and whites of the fruit of the vine. But, this isn’t just another wine bar.  With live music, wine tastings, happy hour specials, and free WiFi, they are getting creative! Despite living catty-corner to Molly’s Sno Cones, another favorite summertime treat among locals, House Wine has started making Sangria and Muscato sno cones as another alternative to help you beat the heat in a local kind of way!

Upcoming Weekend Entertaining Event Rebeccammendation: House Wine Summer Desserts and Sno Cone Launch Party! 7 PM-1 AM, desserts are $4, down from $6, which is still a great price!  Also, check out their Father’s Day Fest from 8 PM-11 PM the next day, featuring music from Bryd and Street, a musical pair that was nominated for the 2009 Texas Music Award Duo/Group of the Year!
