I am so excited that I recently discovered Hotels for Hope, an important arm of local business Austin Hospitality, started by founder Neil Goldman as a way to bring philanthropy to the hospitality industry. Austin Hospitality helps secure the best hotels and cost effective prices for groups needing hotel accommodations in Austin. And Hotels for Hope connects people seeking hotel accommodations and hotels looking for guests (same concept), while adding a giving twist.
Hotels that are a part of this movement (including major hotel chains) donate $1 for every room booked through Austin Hospitality, which in turn matches each $1, so that $2 per hotel room booked through Austin Hospitality is generated and donated to selected organizations benefiting children. And, if you book through the program, you get to choose which of the partner organizations your room reservations will benefit. Seems like a win-win for everyone; charities, hotels, and hotel reservation seekers all benefit from these services and this creative setup!
Last week I attended the Hotels for Hope launch party, where I met visionary Neil, and learned that Austin Hospitality and Hotels for Hope are merging and will be operating under the name of Hotels for Hope moving forward, after three years of growth. I was also interested to find out that working in the hotel industry inspired him to start this business that would make it easier for people needing affordable hotel accommodations and hotels wanting guaranteed business to achieve their desired outcomes, while helping children in need in the process.
Calling all event planners, brides-to-be, corporate executives and marketing coordinators, bar/bat mitzvah parents: It is highly “Rebeccammended” that you synch up with Hotels for Hope if you are booking more than 10 rooms for an upcoming event. They will take the stress out of hotel reservations, and give you the opportunity to help charitable causes while your guests enjoy their stay in loving, giving, revolutionary Austin, Texas!
