Don't Cry for Me Argentina...

*Photos by Rebecca

Last night I wasn't crying, I was all smiles after a spontaneous stop for dinner at Buenos Aires Cafe on E. 6th with Halley and Raquel.  I had heard from Adam P. that this was one of Austin's best kept secrets and was told not to blog about it, for fear that the secret be revealed.  But, I decided it was worth letting you in on.  (Sorry, Adam!) We walked in to the quaint, simple, restaurant that truly does have an international cafe ambiance.  We were greeted by the friendly waitress who was attentive from the moment we walked in.  I was loving the fresh single crimson rose on each table.  We each ordered an empanada, mine had chicken and vegetables with a side of chimichurri sauce, for starters.

For the entrees, Halley and Raquel ordered gnocchi made of sweet potatos with artichokes and a vegetable medly.  I ordered a spinach salad with a beautiful presentation.

They also had a lengthy wine list, that included several Malbecs, which is a typical varietal of grape of the Argentinian region.
