Donation Celebration!

Through a series of chance events and seredipitous encounters with new people, I recently met Alex, the Executive Director of CharityBash: “Austin’s Hippest Philanthropy Turning Residents into Citizens,” administered by the Austin Community Foundation. CharityBash throws a…well…bash, of course, once a month at different locations where donations are accepted for that month’s designated organization. For example, the next Bash will be held on Thursday, April 30th, from 7-10 PM on the Lanai Rooftop Lounge benefitting the YMCA. Click here to RSVP on Facebook. In March, CharityBash donated $1,900 to Fusebox Festival, an annual event highlighting the work of drama, art, music, dance, and film. What a great way to mix entertainment and philanthropy!

This is a wonderful concept. I really like the idea of supporting a collection of causes around the city over the course of the year. I won’t be here for the event on the 30th but signed up for the mailing list so I can attend future events. Thanks for sharing!
