Dress Shop ptotoA new ladies boutique will be joining the ranks of Congress Avenue retail establishments, such as Jos. A. Bank and Patagonia, on August 19th! Dress Shop, simply and appropriately named, now houses the space that shares a front door with Kyoto, the popular “Sushi Happy Hour” host located at 315 Congress, Suite 200 and downstairs Elephant Room, one of the only Jazz venues in Austin. Dress Shop, located next to Annie’s Cafe & Bar, will be a welcome addition to the modest downtown boutique club, of which one such member is a personal favourite– adorable, but affordable Peyton’s Place at 215 Lavaca. Watch for the opening at 315 Congress, Suite 100 to get your next outfit for that perfect entertaining occasion.

Piranha Killer Sushi OpenThe 2nd Street and San Jacinto intersection is about to get bitten by the sushi shark, or really, the piranha. Piranha Killer Sushi, the go-big or go-home “affordable luxury” sushi fusion restaurant that can proudly neighbor another bold experience eatery Max’s Wine Dive, finally has an opening date set. You can fully dine at Piranha Killer Sushi (the latest location addition to two in Arlington, and one in Ft. Worth) next Wednesday, August 19th. Sometimes simple sushi hits the spot, but the menu at Piranha Killer Sushi is something to see, taste, and hopefully rave about! It definitely seems like a special-occasion treat, with rolls such as the “Marry Me Roll”  with shrimp tempura, ginger cream, tuna, avocado, and strawberries on top, and ingredients that include coconut shrimp for an island flare, pico de gallo for a Mexican twist, and chipotle pesto for a touch of Southwest flavor, you better be ready to rock n’ roll. If you’re not the sushi type or don’t go rolls all the way, order off the delectable entree menu, featuring sashimi, stir-fry specialties, Korean steak, and grilled Salmon. Sometimes extravagance calls, so put Piranha Killer Sushi on your list and report back!

Lisa, thanks for stopping by! Peyton’s Place is adorable…cute accessories-great for gifts or yourself, and great, not-overdone clothes. It’s right next to Wich Which. Let me know what you think!
